With its slab-sided, understated good looks and customizable chassis, the ’78 to ’83 Malibu largely picked up where the original left off, and it nobly served as Chevy’s last V8-powered rear-wheel drive midsize offering. WebChevrolet will cease production of the Chevy SS immediately and no new vehicles will be created for the 2024 model year. Chevy has not yet named an official successor for the vehicle. It’s definitely a sad day for Chevy fans but Chevy dealers were frankly not surprised to receive the news.
