Dont know what type of engine you are working on, but if its a small block, they just dont have problems in that area and the roller thrust would just be one more thing to possibly fail. When the flex plate flexes towards the motor the converter pilot doesn't need to bottom out or the converter will be pushing directly on the thrust.
