To go mudlarking in London, you need a mandatory Thames Foreshore Permit from the Port of London Authority.? All objects over 300 years old must be reported to the Museum of London. WebThe PLA only issues a standard permit, which allows digging to a depth of 7.5 cm. A Digging Permit is available to members of the Society of Thames Mudlarks and information on how to apply for membership is available on the relevant page of the PLA website.
